Read the Couponing Beginners Guide to see everything you need to know to get started saving your family tons of money!
Here is what I will be purchasing at Publix this week that is on sale. Does the weekly matchups look different? Check out the Everday Savings Manual Post for why they have changed.
My strategy: Recoup some things that have disappeared from my stockpile. I have skipped a few weeks here and there so my stockpile is whittling away. I will also add in anything that I might have missed or deals that I find before I make my trip later in the week.
Want more information about couponing at Publix? Visit the Publix Couponing 101 Page. Check out the ESM Coupon Help Page for assistance with the wording and the layout of the matchups.
Here are a few tips:
- Always grab a paper ad from the front of the store to have while you shop. This is to make sure you are grabbing the correct product (and weight of the product) to ensure your total will be correct.
- While your grabbing the ad, look for the Green Advantage & Yellow Advantage flyers at the front of the store by the ads for more GREAT savings. These are full of Publix and Manufacturer coupons. Use the links above to see exactly which coupons are in the most recent booklets.
- Ask your store manager the coupon policy. Every store is different because the store manager dictates their own policy for their individual store.
- Don’t forget- If something is out of stock (which sometimes happens) be sure to get a rain check from customer service so you can get the deal when they get more in.
- Be sure to check out The Bargain Buggy’s updated list of $DOLLAR$ OFF COUPONS you can use to lower your final total. Don’t forget, the new policy only allows one dollar off coupon per visit at the Fairhope location. Be sure to check with your store to see if they accept these coupons. Learn how to use these coupons at the Publix Couponing 101 Page.

This week I am doing the Publix ad deals a little differently. I have compiled a list of some of my favorite blogs and blogging friends Publix ad deals to help me out this week. I am double-triple booked this week and going to be running on -E- by Saturday (that reminds me that I need gas in my vehicle)! My to-do list is never ending but I want to be sure each and every one of you gets the best deals at Publix this week. Below are my favorite bloggers and links to their deals.
Publix Ad Deals (Dollar Deals & Freebies) – Couponing to Disney
Publix Dollar Deals- Faithfully Frugal and Free
Publix weekly Deals- IHeartPublix
Thanks in advance for forgiving me about being absent of the deals. They take a great deal of work and time to put together and I had to cut something out this week.

Fairhope Publix Policy Changes 2/20
February 20, 2010 by easternshoremom
Just to make you aware- the Fairhope Publix will no longer be copying their Green or Yellow Advantage flyers to allow you to use more than one of the coupons. They now have plenty of the booklets behind the customer service counter so be sure to ask for one or two if you need more than one of the coupons inside of them.
Other things to remember:
- Requesting rain checks when the product is still on the shelf is stealing. Publix loses money when they write a raincheck that is why they work so hard to keep their store stocked. There are times when they are out of product (right now they are out of a few things) and then it is ok to get a raincheck.
- Overage (using a coupon that is a higher value than the product is priced) is a touchy subject. However, using coupons on trial size items that are not intended for trial size (i.e. say “not for trial size”) and getting overage is not allowed.
- Sneaking coupons in your pile that are not for the products you are buying in just.plain.wrong. Stores are getting smart and catching this kind of coupon fraud. How embarrassing would it be to get caught?
- Copying coupons is another way to get into a lot of trouble while couponing. IT IS A FEDERAL OFFENSE to copy coupons. Don’t do it. It is not worth it.
Things that are A OK:
- Using (1) store and (1) manufacturer coupon on 1 item, which is called a “stack”. When it is a B1G1 sale you can use 1 stack per item.
- Walgreens Register Rewards are accepted at the Fairhope Publix, since they consider them manufacturer coupons. You can use as many as you have as long as they are within date.
- The competitor coupons they accept are Target, Walgreens, CVS (but no Extra Care Bucks), & Winn Dixie.

Publix Ad Deals 2/10
February 10, 2010 by easternshoremom
This week I am trying something new and different with the Publix ad deals. It seems that a common problem that all of you have when looking at the “ad matchups” is what the actual product looks like! So I have suped up the regular ESM matchups to include images of some (most) of the products from the ad. This should help you when trying to find the coupon and finding the actual item in the store.

- Does your store accept Food Lion Coupons? View the Food Lion Website or Hot Coupon World for Food Lion Internet Printables (FLIPS)- A BIG thanks to the ESM Montgomery, AL readers for asking to include this in the Publix post. My local store (Fairhope) does not accept Food Lion but I hope to come shop the store up there soon to try FLIPS!

Publix Trip 1/24

My husband was THRILLED with me when I came home from Publix- all of his favorites were back to the stockpile! We had been running low on a few things (mandarin oranges & ranch dressing) and this replenished the stock. Not to mention the SAINTS WHO DAT? Zapp’s I picked up- no coupon but it was too good not to pass up for our viewing party tonight!
If you have not been following my trips in the past, I have taken a pledge to spend no more than $30 a week on groceries. I try to do my “grocery” shopping only once a week to keep the cost of going back and forth down. Why do I not have meat, milk, etc.? I also have a stockpile of items from past sales, so I am not necessarily buying groceries on a week to week basis anymore.
— Side Note—- You will see below where I have tearpads for $2 OFF Coke Products when you buy 1 Nabisco cracker. This is where trading coupons or having a coupon buddy in a different area is an advantage. My best friend lives in Montgomery so the coupons her Publix puts out she grabs me some and I for her. These tearpads were in her store but I have not seen them anywhere down here.
Check out THIS WEEK’S DEALS HERE for more matchups from Eastern Shore Mom. Also check out the Dollar Deals Section at IHeartPublix for more great deals under a buck! These are put together by Shasta from Faithfully Frugal and Free.

Publix Big Roll Paper Towels $1.34
Zapp’s WHO DAT? Saints Chips $1.69
I then used the $5/$25 PRINTABLE Rite Aid coupon & $10 in Walgreens Register Rewards from THIS transaction last week! Don’t forget to use your RR’s at Publix- in fact, I try to make my Walgreens run before my Publix shopping trip so I can put the money in at Walgreens and get it back at Publix!
Have a Publix trip of your own? Submit it to ESM so it can be added to our Reader shopping Trip photo album on the EasternShoreMom.com Facebook Page! Stay tuned later in the week for my shopping trip post.

On a side note: You might notice the “Things purchased without coupons” section of my list. When I shop at a store I am actually shopping, just like any of you. Sometimes my husband is with me and purchases non-coupon items and that is counted into my grocery budget. When I need things but don’t have a coupon I count those still into my end total that I show you guys.
I don’t just summarize what I saved money on, I want to show you what is coming out of my grocery budget. I am just a normal mom/wife trying to save money on my family’s weekly grocery bill and I incur all of the extra expenses you guys do. I will never alter my totals with rebates or gift cards- I will show you exactly what came OUT OF MY POCKET at the time of sale.
Unavoidable expenses can be offset by saving money on items with coupons and sales. Stock up on the really good items that your family uses a lot to save money in the long run. Understand that to get the best deals you might have to go to multiple stores, but if you need something and don’t have time to go to another store, just bargain shop as best as possible and make the money up somewhere else.
