Please join The Bargain Buggy & Eastern Shore Mom in the adoption of the U.S. Airforce base in SPANGDAHLEM, GERMANY.
The sacrifices that our overseas American soldiers and their families make for our country is huge. There is a simple way for couponers to show their appreciation for what all of the soldiers and their families sacrifice by simply mailing them our EXPIRED coupons. You heard me right! Do not toss those old coupons in the trash or into the recycling bin yet!
American soldiers and their families stationed overseas can use coupons up to 6 months after the expiration date to save at the commissary.
When thinking of sending expired coupons, I wanted to find a base/family that we would be able to keep in touch with and check up on how our coupons are doing! I contacted my good friend Shannon at The Bargain Buggy and she had the perfect person for us to give to. Check out what Christina, an Airforce wife in Germany, has to say about receiving coupons:
Yes, we use them here. They have a place at the commissary that has them just loosely in a bin where you can go through them. And, at the post office, they have them in zip lock bags. I’ve never really been a big coupon person because the food at the commissary is so cheap compared. But, being over here, it is WAY different. It is still on base, but the prices of food are crazy. I don’t know if it has something to do with having to get the food shipped here from the states or what. Thanks for the thought. I don’t think people realize how much the small things help us when we’re over here and don’t have access to the things we’re used to. -Christina

Guidelines for Mailing Expired Coupons:
U.S. Mailing Address:
SPANGDAHLEM FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER
Unit 3655 Box 65
APO AE 09126-5565
* Manufacturer coupons only.
* Do not send coupons that are more than 2 months expired.
* Sort coupon into “Food” and “Non Food”. Place the divided coupon bundles in bags or envelopes so they do not get mixed up when shipping. Do NOT use rubber bands or paper clips (they come undone). Label the bag/envelope “Food” or “Non Food”. You are now ready to package and ship.
*The cheapest way to mail the coupons is parcel post. You are mailing to a U.S. address so the shipping rates are the same. Due to the amount of travel time do not send coupons that are more than 2 months past the expiration date using parcel post.
The quickest way to ship coupons is priority mail. The post office has a standard envelope that has a flat shipping fee if you pick this method.
If you have a problem mailing your coupons please contact Eastern Shore Mom and I will be happy to assist you OR ask the post office for help. They will be more than helpful with your effort.
