    Goodwill Used TV Sets

Here is an interesting article on what one person would NEVER buy at Goodwill. Now, me being the thrifty queen I am, there isn’t much I wouldn’t buy at Goodwill aside from personal items like under-roos and such. This person wouldn’t buy silverware or a blender at Goodwill! Now, I don’t understand that.

Check it out for yourself. Do you agree?

#11- Car Seats. No matter how good of a deal it seems, if you can’t verify the full history of a car seat, don’t buy it!

I disagree with some of what this article says; it really seems to me the poster may have a store near them that receives or puts out bad products. Not all the children’s toys are broken, not all shoes or clothes have been wore, not all kitchen wares or cosmetics have been used. Most thrift stores have policies in place as to what products/donations they can sell and which have to be thrown away. At my local Goodwill and a few other thrift stores, I’d say it’s safe to purchase most of what was mentioned in the article. As with anything you purchase (new or used) you should thoroughly check it for defects or dissatisfaction before purchasing, and then wash it appropriately once you get home, or before use. I do agree there are some things you shouldn’t purchase at a thrift store, such as the used under roos and swimsuits, and expired car/child seats.

I can understand staying away from things like hats and used makeup. But silverware? Really? If you have ever eaten out, had a school lunch, or had dinner with family/friends, you have had used silverware.
