Tonight I am writing, simply just to write, over on the ESM Facebook page while watching Julie & Julia the movie. If you haven’t seen this movie, I suggest putting it at the top of your Netflix requests or Blockbuster Bluebox rental list (find FREE movie codes HERE). If you have seen this movie and ever wondered while watching the scene of her melting down after failing some recipes, is owning a blog like that? Yes, yes it is. In fact, usually ESM is very positive and I hold my “meltdowns” to myself. Watch the clip above and read my ESM meltdown post below :)

A “slump” is what those of us who have hit highs and lows of writing call it. When you have lost passion in writing about what used to make you happy. Whether it be that life events and stresses have caused you to slowly go on a downward spiral to no inspiration or you have blog writer’s block, either way it is tragic for a blogger. Especially one who loves their readers and content as much as I do. In fact, the things I write for you I use myself. Therefore, when I am falling short on posting my favorite frugal living tips, my deal finding suffers dramatically. Confession: I shopped the other day without a coupon in sight. I didn’t buy a ton, just several things we needed but still without coupons (sigh)

Blogging slumps are usually followed with lots of behind the scenes discouraging events such as lack of comments, behind on emails, negative feedback from peers or readers, etc. These are all things bloggers have learned to tolerate but still find disheartening. However life goes on, and to get out of the slump you hold your head high and wade through the trenches of the blogging world that can sometimes be very fierce, competitive, and downright ugly.

After the slump? Great things are always to come. Usually when an athlete comes out of an off period amazing plays are made and wonderful wins are achieved. Here is to the “after the slump” things ahead for EasternShoreMom!

    Thanks Julie & Julia!

Ohhhhhhhhhh I wanna hug you! This too shall pass. It always does. Time is a wonderful thing. I have been overwhelmed with inability to work at peak capacity all summer. I just dumped 300 old emails filled with info that I couldn’t share because I am a human. I had 3 hours of sleep last night because I am re-energized to try something new. …To stretch beyond my comfort zone and take a leap of faith. I’ve been working on making some changes, tweaks and putting myself first right after God. I pray more. It has helped me focus on what is next.

I took the weekend off for the most part. I did enough to keep a forward momentum. I am a mere human and not a machine. I gave up bedmaking. I am going to start doing that again tomorrow. It starts my day off with an accomplishment and it gives my life order. Make your bed tomorrow morhing. Your blogging mama insists. It will make you feel better – oddly – if you don’t already. :)

You’ve run at full tilt for a long time. Take care of you sweeite. You deserve too. Wanna talk? I’m home all week the best I know. Anytime is AOK but just know that “mama” sleeps in until about 8:30am. ROFL I am a night owl.

Chin up! Shoulders back. Smile. This is gonna be a better day. :)

      Your other mother…

      Aubrey,

I’m not so sure why, if anyone, would leave you ANY kind of negative comments OR make you feel like you are not doing a great job! IF they are, they are CRAZY!

Let me just say that ESM, as well as 4 other bloggers that I follow, have completely changed my life as far as spending! I look at shopping in a whole new way, and I am able to buy more things I want or save money for a new car, because you have taken the time to make it very easy for me to do so. I am also able to buy things to give to a few family members that are really struggling (such as I bought many many school supplies for about $20 for one of them the other day. I know it wasn’t much, but I know it was totally appreciated.) If I wasn’t saving money on other things, I couldn’t do this, so needless to say, I am “spreading the love”. I have even given people coupons out of my binder as I am in line in the checkout to people in front of me if I spot an item they have that I have a coupon for that I am not going to use!

ALL in all-thanks for what you do. I couldn’t do it if it weren’t for you, and I think you are amazing for doing this everyday. You make a real difference in a lot of people’s lives, and I hope you always remember that when you get in a slump!

      Thanks! :)

      ESM-
Just remember… you are the best in town and the first to make it on the news to start this ball rolling- Baldwin County has become saturated with frugal shoppers thanks to you. You may have friends and partners in the frugal blogging world that will stop at nothing to “one up you”… just ignore them — you are genuine and kind and you deserve more accolades and followers than anyone else. Put one foot in front of the other and know that the sun will come up tomorow. Some others just have a cut-throat personality and will stop at nothing to be the best– even hurting those who have helped them. You are a blessing to so many families — and remember, if it makes you unhappy — just quit, and don’t feel guilty for you owe no one anything — enjoy your family and your new pursuits. May God bless you abundantly!
