TODAY IS THE DAY- Kidz Klozet in Mobile opens to the public today. Think that all of the good stuff will be gone since the pre-sales were this weekend? Think Again! Kidz Klozet held a SECOND drop off called a “Re-Stock” day yesterday afternoon so if you shopped this weekend at the volunteer or consignor presales you will want to go back again to check out some new stuff brought in. Before you head that way, be sure to watch the shopping tips video below!

Now, if you did not acutally laugh out loud yesterday at my video, get ready because you are going to with this one. Disclaimer: I am not a professional in front of the camera or when editing video. Sometimes I stumple over my words or call a belt a “houshold item”- I’m not perfect but I am here for your amusement so LAUGH AWAY :)The place was SO LARGE that we had to film a bunch of short clips to get everything in. Sometimes the transitions run together a little bit so keep in mind this is our first video editing experience. We are still learning but I think I found something that is REALLY going to make everything smooth for our next upcoming video. The end cut off some of our points and credits so I have retyped them below.

    Consignment Sale Shopping Tips

    1) Make a Plan (Bring a List of Items You Need)
    2) Laundry Basket with Belt
    3) Shop Big Items First
    4) Trace Your Child’s Foot for Shoe Size
    5) Shop for Unisex Shoes
    6) Sit & Sort
    7) Shop for New Items
    8) Want to shop early? Most consignment sales offer incentives to shop early if you are a consignor or a volunteer.

How long has ESM been shopping consignment sales? I have been consigning since before Addison was born. That’s right, I will admit that some of the “big items” I received from my baby showers I was able to take back to Target and get gift cards for the FULL AMOUNT because I found them at the consignment sale 50-75% OFF what the retail price was and the looked brand new. I used those gift cards to buy diapers and other necessities. I LOVE shopping consignment. It is so much fun, like couponing it is a game to me to find the best bargain. Sometimes you will even find the same item being consigned by two different people and check the price, one might be cheaper than the other one or one might be in better shape.

I also must confess, I have a LOVE for smocked and boutique style clothing. It just looks so cute on Addi! However, walking in some of those boutique shops- I would spend more than I spend on groceries in 3 MONTHS! Kidz Klozet is jammed packed full of my favorite brand names like Anavini & Castles and Crowns that are gently used and prices that just cannot beat. I cannot wait to restock her closet with some cute smocked and appliqued outfits for the Spring!

The following video I compiled a list of tips of my own combined with the gals at Kidz Klozet’s help. Kidz Klozet is the local seasonal consignment sale in my area that I choose to shop just because they always have a TON of stuff. If you enjoy couponing but have never tried consignment, I suggest you at least give it one go around. Don’t get overwhelmed, go in there with a plan (like you have when couponing) I promise you will come out of there a HUGE success!
