October of 2008, EasternShoreMom.com was born. Now, the ESM that you know and visit everyday was still far from being- but my goal of having a site that helped out local moms and any others that wanted the information that I could share was planned. After a month of trying to build a “website” I gave up. I knew what I wanted to communicate and I was in control, but for some reason everything that I wrote and everything on the site was not was I wanted. The problem with that goal was their were only I’s. Just because I wanted something did not mean it was going to happen. I needed to let go of the controls, something I am totally uncomfortable with, and let God. Let Go and Let God.

In April the renewal e-mail from GoDaddy came through, asking me if I wanted to renew my purchase of EasternShoreMom.com. At that point I had become a deal-junkie and were soliciting all of my friends via e-mail to different sites for all these deals I was finding online. The e-mail list became longer each day and those friends were telling their friends. My nights were spent answering emails about how to work this deal and how I got this for that! Underneath one of those e-mail was the link to renew my EasternShoreMom.com URL- so I clicked-purchased- and let go and let God.

Now having been some 9 months later, EasternShoreMom.com and all of you is the one of the best blessings God has given me and my family. Not only am I saving us a ton of money but I have found so many friends & many of them lifelong. I cherish everyone of you and EasternShoreMom.com, I enjoy helping each person and every kind word I get or encouraging e-mail about how saving money has helped you in any way warms my heart and makes me feel like I am helping people.

With those words, below I have listed out my blogging goals & reolsutions for the year 2010! I will add that 2010 brings new challenges to me, my family, & the blog. However, I always seem to make it work no matter what is on my plate so here we go-here is what I want to accomplish and bring to the table in 2010 on EasternShoreMom.com:

1. PERSONALITY: When I began blogging I was warned to not reveal too much about myself. I feel like since that advice, I have held back on my personal life story & letting you guys into my family. I enjoy hearing about y’all so much but I don’t give much in return. I would like to open up more & share my family with you. Share my struggles, triumphs and everything in between.
2. BALANCE: Whew- this one is going to be a doosey! As you all know, I am a full-time working mother OUTSIDE of the blog. However, I will be adding another cap to the mix because this semester I will be returning to school as a full-time student as well. I will be cutting back some of my hours at work to attend classes 3 days a week and also take some classes online. PLUS I will be blogging EasternShoreMom and running ragged with Shannon doing our Coupon Classes. I still must make time for my family so please forgive me if some days have less deals or posts than others.
3. CHARITY: I have some exciting charity avenues I would like to explore in 2010 giving us an outlet for all that free stuff we get and using it to help people in the community that are in need. I can’t wait to tell all of you about them!
4. LISTENING: I always ask for suggestions of what you would like to see on ESM and I would like to continue to do that. I always say that this site is just as much for you as it is for me. I should be posting what YOU want to see so be sure to let me know through e-mai or the EasternShoreMom Facebook page what you would find interesting!

What you are going to see on EasternShoreMom throughout the new year:

1. COUPON MATCHUPS: This is the one I know a lot of you are looking forward to. Coupon Matchups are very tedious work & I appload those bloggers that can crank them out like there is no tomorrow, I don’t know how they do it! BUT I know that a lot of you want the coupon matchups so I will be bringing them and EVERY week. The stores that i will be providing matchups for are the following: Publix, Brunos, Winn Dixie, Target, CVS, Walgreens & Rite Aid. Now I cannot promise it will be every single item in the sale but I will matchups the ones that I think are the best deals. ;)
2. RECIPES: The Fairhope Foodie has been a great addition to the EasternShoreMom family and I plan on continuing to feature Alaina and her fabulously frugal recipes!
3. COUPON CLASSES: Haven’t attended a coupon class but want to? ESM & BB are bringing the Couponing 101 class into the new year to help you with your 2010 goals to save your family money!
4. ARTICLES & FRUGAL FRIDAY: I plan on writing more articles with meat on their bones, the juicy subjects of saving your family money and how to do it successfully and without the headache. I really enjoy the articles on MSN Money and I hope to pass a few on to you guys to help you through the most common fight in a family- money. Frugal Friday was a series that I continued through the Summer but faded out. I am hoping to being it back full force with a new article every Friday! I am excited about this one!
5. MOMMY DEALS: Not only just the freebies & good deals on childrens stuff but frugal tips that I learn as I travel through mommyhood with you guys!
6. FREEBIES, ESM HOT COUPON ROUNDUP, ESM WEEKEND PLANNER, HOT DEAL ALERTS, & GIVEAWAYS: It wouldn’t be EasternShoreMom without them! Weekend Planner is another reader favorite that was put on the back burner but I will be bringing it back with all of the free events, coupons, & freebies to get your weekend started off right!
