• Frugal Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas

    My good friend Shannon from The Bargain Buggy has compiled a great list of things to buy for stocking stuffers while keeping it frugal! I have added in a few of my own and you can add in some too- this helps everyone with suggestions on things you might not have thought of but make great gifts!

    I have been gathering stocking stuffers for a couple weeks now…free toothbrushes/toothpaste, inexpensive coloring books at Walgreens, free Nivea last week and so on. The drugstores are GREAT places to purchase these items. Just follow what is on sale. For adults, I tend to purchase useful items–probably because that is what I like to get.
    Here are a couple items that I have as stocking stuffers that are fairly inexpensive.
    Men:
    Toiletry items (razors, shaving cream)
    Travel size products
    Lotto tickets
    Gum & Candies
    Apples, Oranges, Nuts
    Outdoors Type: hand warmers, fishing hooks
    Socks
    Magazines
    Sunglasses Clip
    “Coupons” for misc. items you will do on demand (Get out of the dishes free card, etc.)
    Women:
    Toiletry items (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, chapstick)
    Nail files, polish
    Travel size products
    Lotto tickets
    Gum & Candies
    Apples, Oranges, Nuts
    Sample size perfumes (I actually like these)
    Kitchen Gadgets
    Candles
    A Favorite Magazine
    Grocery List Pad
    Hair accessories (bobby pins, hair ties, etc)
    Coupon Accordian File! :)
    A Pair of Scissors (for her couponing- find at Dollar Tree)
    “Coupons” for misc. items you will do on demand (FREE car wash, FREE night of watching the kids, etc.)
    Children:
    Coloring books
    Crayons
    Toiletry items (toothpaste, toothbrushes)
    Travel size products
    Candy on sale at drugstores
    Dollar section at Target, Dollar Tree
    Pencils
    Apples, Oranges, Nuts
    Holiday cups
    Gingerbread Man (add in items to decorate)
    Hot CoaCoa Mix
    Hair accessories
    Remember those cheap Walgreens fillers? Many of them will end up as stocking stuffers!

      So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can’t resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check. Oh, and by the way…don’t worry about my Doberman. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT under ANY circumstances talk to my parrot!” When the repairman arrived at Mrs. Agathe’s apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Doberman he had ever seen. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
